The onboard generative arpeggiator allows for pattern modification and enhancement at the per-step level, extending output possibilities when paired with the Launchkey MK4’s three onboard scale modes. This enhances the overall performance of the Latchkey MK4 range.  Scale Snap instantly corrects notes played outside the prescribed scale for live performances.  The Scale Filter instantly mutes notes outside the intended key in real time.  The Scale Easy feature remaps the C-key to the root note of the selected scale, eliminating the need for black keys for a more simplified performance interface.  Adventure: adds complexity to harmonic connections, ranging from classic pop progressions to adventurous jazz compositions.  Explore Limits chord sets and combinations based on the Adventure parameter’s level of complexity.  Experiment with chord voicing, ranging from single register to multi-octave crazy.  Roll: uses a strum-like effect to create a varied rate of flourish, staggered note activation. They offer three built-in chord modes: Chord Map, User Chord Mode, and Fixed Chord Mode. The Chord Detector displays chords on an OLED screen, inspiring and broadening performance palettes. Fixed Chord allows recording fixed-interval chords and playing them with a single key. The controller’s 16 polyphonic aftertouch-enabled touchpads are used for User Chord and Chord Map settings. Users can save up to 16 chords, one for each pad, which can be altered using semitone or octave intervals. Chord Map: an in-depth study into evolving musical exploration The Launchkey 61 MK4 is a standalone instrument with Chord Map mode, which splits FSR pads into two categories: chords in blue and performance tools in orange. The left-most pads store chords, while the right-most supports bidirectional arpeggiation, chord inversion, and two-handed Bass Chord and Chord Split. The device also allows control of Adventure, Explore, Spread, and Roll settings with four continuous encoders.
