Harrison Audio’s MR3eq Overview The Harrison MR3eq 500-Series Equaliser was designed specifically for the Harrison MR3 studio console and is one of the company’s most popular EQ models. The characteristic Harrison sound is now available in the 500-Series format. Originally designed for the Harrison MR3 studio console, the MR3eq is one of Harrison’s most prominent EQ designs, known for its punchy, smooth sound and tremendous sculpting capabilities. The Music Recording 3 (MR3) console, introduced in 1981, quickly became the chosen tool for many of the world’s finest engineers and studios, contributing to the creation of some of the most memorable albums of the 1970s and 1980s. The MR3 EQ, like other Harrison production instruments, has the vibe to inspire artists while also providing the accuracy engineers need to thrive. The MR3eq module allows you to get the characteristic Harrison sound in the 500 series format. Legacy of analogue Harrison consoles have contributed to some of the most renowned and influential musical works in history. Michael Jackson, ABBA, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Donald Fagan, and many other great musicians have used Harrison production technologies to help them make multi-platinum albums. Harrison’s newest 500 series of modules capture the sound and features that engineers like Bruce Swedien, Roger Nichols, and Reinhold Mack relied on to create timeless music. MR3eq Design The MR3eq is a high-performance analog EQ that draws on decades of equalizer and filter design knowledge. This EQ’s circuit architecture enables accuracy in surgical operations as well as the development of sweeping melodic strokes with plenty of band interaction for a rich and colorful audio character. 3-Band Parametric with HPF This powerful three-band parametric equalizer includes Low and High-frequency 6 dB/octave Shelf bands that may be converted to a 2nd order Bell response with Harrison’s well-known proportional Q. The Mid-band has a constantly changing Q, while a separate High Pass Filter section has a noticeable 3 dB resonant peak. The MR3eq’s adaptable architecture and excellent sculpting capabilities make it a versatile instrument that improves a broad range of source materials, working equally well in tracking and mixdown circumstances.
