The Footprint®02 Gen2 has the same completely tri-amplified 3-way system as its bigger sister, with dedicated Class D amplification for each driver. The speaker system consists of a 1-inch dual-ring radiator tweeter, a 5-inch aluminum cone midrange, and two 6.5-inch aluminum cone Dual-Force™ Technology woofers. This combination provides smooth crossover transitions, increased transient response, and high output with little distortion. The Footprint02 Gen2 packs large-scale Barefoot Sound quality into a pair of tiny active studio monitors. It has entirely rebuilt custom drivers with high magnetic flux motors tuned for prolonged linear excursion, vanishingly low distortion, and lightning-fast transient response. While its predecessor had a two-way design, the second generation boasts a full three-way architecture with precisely tuned crossover points at 180 Hz and 3.7 kHz, as well as each driver’s own powerful, dedicated Class D amplifier. The Footprint02 Gen2 delivers today’s high dynamic range recordings with the ease of world-class large-format main monitors, thanks to the substantial tri-amplified power available.
