Hear exactly what you are recording. The Drawmer CMC3 Compact Monitor Controller guarantees that you capture all you hear. Nothing more or less. This is the foundation of excellent recordings. The CMC3 is equally at home in serious home studios as it is in professional recording facilities. It combines the feature sets of Drawmer’s three most popular monitor controllers, giving you the renowned accurate and transparent audio quality of the MC2.1, the precision and control of the MC3.1, and the compact, low-profile form factor of the CMC2. High-quality monitoring and critical mix-checking features. The CMC3 combines the transparency of Drawmer’s high-quality monitoring circuit with a series of useful mix-checking functions. There are balanced outputs for three speaker pairs, as well as a separate mono/subwoofer output. Individual L/R trims allow for total control over level matching, and timed relay protection on all speaker outputs prevents power up/down thumps. Two pairs of headphone-outs round out your monitoring set. The CMC3 has four stereo inputs: one SPDIF 24-bit/192kHz digital input using the same DAC chipset as Drawmer’s acclaimed MC3.1 monitor controller, two analog balanced 1/4″ stereo inputs, and a front-panel 3.5mm Aux jack with variable level control for your smartphone or MP3 player. It also has two professional-grade headphone outputs, each with its own amplifier and volume control, that give the same exceptional audio quality and mix-checking capabilities as the CMC3 for speakers. Talkback is also available utilizing the internal or external microphone, with volume control and audio routing to a dedicated mono output connector and headphones. Unwavering monitoring accuracy The Drawmer CMC3 is flexible, intuitive, and simple to use, but above all, it excels at authentically reproducing what you’ve recorded — and what you’re about to record. Monitoring accuracy appears to be a no-brainer, yet it’s astonishing how often recordings are generated using poor monitoring settings. And the effects are typically not pleasant. If you don’t know what you’re “committing to tape,” you won’t get far. It is far preferable to invest in two or three pairs of reference-grade monitor speakers, an accurate subwoofer, one or two reliable headphones, and a competent monitor controller. You’ll create better recordings. A true engineer’s tool. In classic Drawmer form, CMC3 is designed to be a genuine engineer’s tool. The active circuit was designed to properly duplicate the audio signal while avoiding many of the issues associated with passive circuits. It also has a variety of mix-checking capabilities that are not found on most other controllers, such as independent left/right cuts, two separate headphone amplifiers, and a talkback function. Why do you need a monitor controller? A piece of wise advice is in order. You’ve spent weeks building the perfect studio atmosphere, as well as a fortune on active speakers, dynamics processors, microphones and preamps, and a whole room full of other gear. Don’t blow it now! A monitor controller is essential to any recording setup, and it may be the most critical component of the whole signal chain, providing the reference for achieving ideal mic placements, EQ, and mix balance. This is something that should always be guaranteed: that your display controller is completely accurate. With the Drawmer CMC3, you can.
