It uses transformer-balanced mix bus circuitry similar to a Neve 80-series console, providing more headroom, punch, and depth to every sound it passes through. The 8816 also features cue mixing, metering, per-channel solo/mute, and talkback capabilities. Its monitoring section offers volume control, an auxiliary input, twin headphone outputs, and alternative speaker outputs. The AMS Neve 8816 uses authentic 80-series architecture and two unique Neve Marinair standard transformers on its stereo mix bus. This console provides the authoritative sound of a vintage Neve console, with heaviness, muscle, and three-dimensional non-linearities, allowing for color and vitality in any project. The AMS Neve 8816 is a 16-channel analog mixer with line-level input, Level, and Pan controls, a Cue button, and a Cut/Solo button. It can accept both 4dBu and -10dBV sources and spans from ∞dB to 15dB. The Pan knob provides smooth, progressive action with -3dB center attenuation. The Cue button adds the channel’s input, pre-fader, and pre-pan to the cue mix. Channels 15-16 are stereo-linked, useful for playing back a preliminary 2-track artist mix when overdubbing. The Cut/Solo button allows muting or soloing a track, and the master Cut/Solo button is essential for comping or troubleshooting EQ or balance issues.
