Dangerous Music 2-BUS Analog Summing Mixer

$63.42 $121.77
Next-generation analog summing The Dangerous Music 2-BUS is a 2U, 16-channel analog summing mixer that accepts XLR and D-sub inputs. It improves on its iconic 2-BUS predecessor’s performance by reducing crosstalk, distortion, and noise floor, as well as providing astoundingly precise soundstaging and center focus. Dangerous spent over two years designing three onboard audio processors that, with a simple push of a button and a twist of a knob, give tone and color to your stems or your entire mix right from the 2-BUS . The 2-BUS is well-designed, incredibly functional, and sounds fantastic. Outstanding flexibility. Dangerous Music understands that each engineer and session is unique, so they built the 2-BUS to provide exceptional professional flexibility. They specified an XLR stereo insert before the outputs for adding a separate compressor or processing chain that can be bypassed with a single button for quick reference comparison. Channels 1/2 and 9/10 can be changed to mono to route, allowing vocals/bass and kick/snare to each have their mono input. They also added a 0.5dB output control ranging from -4dB to 6dB to the 2-BUS , as well as XLR connections for the main and monitor outputs. A trio of customized audio processors The 2-BUS , which follows Dangerous Music’s philosophy of tonal coloration as a per-project artistic choice, includes three independent proprietary audio processors that selectively add tone and color to your mixes. In parallel processing mode, you can use Harmonics, a tuned harmonic distortion generator, and Paralimit, a high-performance FET limiter. We’ve used both of them on stereo mixes and pairs of stems. X-Former adds a pair of bespoke transformers to your stereo mix outs, allowing you to regulate core saturation. You can run all three tone processors at the same time, and you can change the order of signal flow using distortion and limiting. Increase the number of channels by ganging them Need a full-fledged analog “console” summing experience? Connect several 2-BUS devices using the stereo expansion inputs XLR to generate a bespoke channel count. Custom audio processors on each unit apply throughout the ganged group output, providing the ultimate in tonal flexibility and control. With three units, for example, you’ll get 48 channels of analog summing, with the first two units using Harmonics (distortion) and Paralimit (limiter) on two distinct stereo stems, and the third unit using X-Former transformer saturation on the master stereo outputs. What professionals are saying about the 2-BUS :  “The Paralimit and X-Former appear to be magical knobs.” Special mention goes to the Paralimit since it does a beautiful job of raising the overall ambiance without pounding the music, which I particularly enjoy on drums. I plugged it into my system beside my old 2-BUS and Dangerous MONITOR ST, and wow, it’s wonderful! Bags of air and space surround the mixture.” — Chris Blackwell (drummer, composer)  “Since the 2-BUS has so much headroom, it’s easy for me to decide that I want the entire vocal submix to be brighter or warmer, or more or less compressed.” — Michael James, producer/mix engineer. The Dangerous Music 2-BUS is one of the reasons why my studio has a killer sound that sets it apart from the competition.” — Alberto Rizzo Schettino, engineer.  Blind testing revealed that Dangerous mixes outperformed SSL, in-the-box, and 2-BUS options. The 2-BUS mixes were just cleaner and warmer than SSL or in-box mixing… “I just don’t miss my console.” — Gina Fant-Saez, mix engineer.  The 2-BUS LT allows for individual placement of components. You get a faster, larger mix while retaining a more natural, less processed sound. — Phil Greiss (producer/engineer)  “The Dangerous Music equipment is the focal point of my mixing setup.” Everything I do passes via a Dangerous MONITOR, 2-BUS, MASTER, and BAX EQ. Everything.” — Fabian Dupont (mix engineer)  “I don’t understand how the 2-BUS has been in the studio for so long, but hasn’t gotten to live shows — the sound is unbelievable.” — Horace Ward (FOH Engineer)  “The harmonic and transformer flavors are great options to have, and the parallel limiter is a genius idea.” ― Chris Tabron (producer and mix engineer) Dangerous Music 2-BUS Analog Summing Mixer Features:  The stunning 16-channel analog summing mixer provides great headroom and depth for your mixes.  Three analog choices (Harmonics, Paralimit, and X-Former) provide tonal character to your mix.  Flexible routing and XLR/D-sub inputs enable customized workflows.  Easily integrate your outboard gear with the switchable stereo analog insert.  Output control is stepped in 0.5dB increments to provide excellent recallability.  High-quality components deliver audiophile-grade sound.
