Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip Overview Looking for a complete analog solution for recording and mixing? If so, we strongly recommend looking into the Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip. This comprehensive channel strip includes every classic signal flow processor, such as a transparent preamp with mic and line inputs, a parametric EQ with variable bandwidth, a vintage-style compressor with a rear panel sidechain insert point, and a saturation module with three types of variable saturation. The EQ and compressor units may be changed or entirely bypassed, and studio engineers have been particularly delighted with the Drawmer 1977’s dry/wet mix knob for parallel EQ and compression! Finally, the Drawmer 1977 has a lighted real analog VU meter with a switchable 10dB Rescale mode. The Drawmer 1977 Channel Strip is a new spin on historical analog recording gear that will elevate your recording and mixing capabilities. Start with a clean preamplifier. The Drawmer 1977 channel strip includes a THAT Corporation mic preamp with 66dB of clean gain in /- 6dB increments, phantom power, and switchable mic impedance. There are also separate XLRs for line and mic inputs, as well as an instrument DI input with throughput. The Drawmer 1977 also offers a separate XLR direct preamp output, as well as an XLR for the general output on the back panel. Finally, the preamp section has a variable highpass filter knob and a phase reversal button to clean up the bottom end. Full parametric EQ. The Drawmer 1977 has an integrated fully parametric 3-band EQ module with /- 12dB boosts and cuts at selectable frequencies, as well as shapable bandwidths. It also has switchable slopes, allowing you to highlight the high and low ends of your signals. The EQ and Compressor modules can be completely bypassed or switched depending on the signal flow sequence you choose. Colorful compression. The Drawmer 1977’s compressor module has all of the regular compressor settings as well as two special controls called “Big” and “Air.” These allow you to keep the extremely low and high-frequency information in your signals, respectively. Big and Air allow you to boost the low end and open up the top end for more sparkle and sharpness. The back panel also has a sidechain insert point, giving you even more compression control. There are three forms of musical saturation. The saturator sits next to the Drawmer 1977 compressor module. This device offers three various forms of musical saturation, depending on how much vintage warmth you want. Choose from Clean, Warm, and Overdriven, and then use the Level knob to dial in the desired amount of mojo. Drawmer’s 1977 Channel Strip Features:  A modern spin on vintage-style channel strips.  THAT Corporation mic preamplifier offers 66dB of clean gain, phantom power, and switchable mic impedance.  Inputs include XLRs for line and mic, as well as a professional DI input with thru output.  Dedicated XLR for pristine direct preamp output, and an XLR for overall output.  The phase reverse switch, along with a variable highpass filter at 16, 32, 65, or 130Hz, tightens the low end.  Vintage-style 3-band parametric EQ with adjustable frequencies, /-12dB cuts and boosts, and variable bandwidths.  Switchable slopes allow for accenting low and high signals.  The compressor has normal controls as well as “Big” and “Air” settings to retain deep lows and dazzling highs in your signals.  The rear panel sidechain insert point provides further compression control.  Swap the signal flow order of the EQ and Compressor, and bypass them for rapid A/B’ing.  Three types of variable saturation provide the perfect vintage flavor. Clean, Warm, and Overdriven.  Combine wet and dry ingredients. Output Gain knobs provide parallel EQ and compression without the need for additional mixing devices—a common function in current plugins but a rarity on vintage-style hardware.  Analogue VU meter with backlit display and switchable 10dB rescale mode.  Output time delay relays provide clean power up/down.  Internal low-hum toroidal linear power.
