SPL Phonitor X : The Headphone Amplifier with Preamplifier With the better VOLTAiR technology, you may enjoy music as well through headphones or speakers, which is why we created Phonitor X. For every headphone The Phonitor X connects regular headphones via a jack plug and balanced headphones via a 4-pin XLR connector. All headphones are easily powered by a huge output power of 18 watts. Headphones or speakers The OUTPUT switch converts the headphone amplifier into a preamplifier; just switch from headphones to speakers, and the selected source signal is routed to both analog audio outputs (RCA and XLR). In the center position (mute), no signal reaches the outputs. The VU meters glow up red. To power amplifiers You may connect the active loudspeakers using the balanced XLR- for long wire lengths and the RCA sockets for short cable connections. The red marker LED makes the setting apparent even in low-light conditions. Volume RC The volume may be adjusted with any infrared remote control, which the Phonitor X readily learns. The DAC768xs The highly acclaimed AKM AK4490 Velvet Sound™ premium DAC chip is used as the converter chip in the optional digital-to-analog converter, which thanks to its new architecture reproduces the finest sound details. It converts PCM audio with a resolution of 32 bits and a sampling rate of up to 768kHz, which is equivalent to 16 times CD resolution. Direct Stream Digital is also supported up to a resolution of DSD4 or DSD256.
