The Alps RK27 “Big Blue” potentiometer produces a satisfying “spoon in honey” turning sensation. In addition to an analog source, three digital sources may be connected to the Phonitor se via the optional DAC. Headphone Output With Power The Phonitor SE features a 6.35 mm connector for attaching headphones with jack plugs. This socket supports up to 2 x 5 watts of output power. This enables even the most power-hungry headphones, such as magnetostatics or electrostatic, to run smoothly. The Revolution The Phonitor Matrix, with switchable crossfeed, is included in the headphone amplifier and allows you to listen to music through headphones while experiencing the same sound as through speakers. The exhausting hyper stereo effect and the excessive reproduction of reverberation and effects are no longer used. Enjoy your music without weariness and as intended. The Phonitor Matrix’s greatest expansion stage has three settings: Crossfeed, Speaker Angle, and Centre Level. Phonitor SE sets the Center Level to -1 dB and the Speaker Placement Angle to 30°. These are the most popular values. The CrossFeed function controls the crosstalk between channels, often known as the interaural level difference. The CrossFeed’s intensity may be adjusted using two switch locations, C1 and C2. Connections The Phonitor SE has gold-plated RCA connections for the analog input. The optional DAC768xs provides three more digital sources: USB, Coax, and Optical. The optional DAC768xs The optional digital-to-analog converter uses the widely regarded AKM AK4490 Velvet Sound™ premium DAC chip, which reproduces the finest sound details with its revolutionary architecture. It transforms PCM audio with a resolution of 32 bits and a sample rate of up to 768kHz, which is 16 times the CD resolution. Direct Stream Digital is also supported, with resolutions of DSD4 or DSD256. The drivers • Mac OS and iOS devices do not require driver installation (class compliant). • To connect iOS devices, use the Apple camera adapter. • For Windows, installing a driver is necessary to achieve a greater sample rate than the norm.
