The industry’s most prestigious front end. The AMS Neve 1073OPX is a new addition to the Neve preamp lineup, featuring eight remote-controlled 1073 preamps with Neve Marinair transformers. This versatile device offers a 2U rack box with front and rear ports for complete connectivity to any studio, stage, or broadcast scenario. It also features a USB and Dante digital connection with a preinstalled digital I/O module, ensuring the iconic Neve preamp sound is ready for the next half-century of importance. The remote-control software allows for two-way control and entire recall of all settings. Mic input sources use Neve’s patented Marinair transformer-coupled input stage, allowing easy recording in the studio control room. Included USB/Dante digital module. The Digital I/O card, which comes factory installed in your AMS Neve 1073OPX, provides a USB and Dante AD/DA interface, eight channels of analog-to-digital conversion for each 1073OPX preamp output, and two channels of digital-to-analog conversion for the digital monitor return signal route. The USB connection connects the 1073OPX to a DAW operating on a PC or Mac and may be used as your primary/core audio interface. In addition to the USB connection, the 1073OPX may be used as a Dante-enabled preamp on any Dante Audio-over-IP network via main and secondary Dante connections. Military-grade build quality. The name Neve commands respect. Rupert Neve began inventing audio equipment during the tube console period but gained his name with solid-state systems. Setting up business in Little Shelford in the 1960s, Mr. Neve had several challenges in developing his brand in a new technical context. Transistors were new, costly, and difficult to procure in large quantities in the UK. Reliable faders did not exist at the time, which is in stark contrast to today’s environment, when components are inexpensive and widely accessible from a variety of vendors vying for bids. Nevertheless, Rupert persevered. By the early 1970s, the Neve firm was thriving, accepting orders and manufacturing bespoke transformer-balanced consoles for recording and broadcast facilities all over the globe.
