$66.88 $86.94
Authentic Neve 1073N for Modern Studio Since its release in 1970, top engineers and producers have coveted the Neve 1073 channel amplifier, which embodies the Holy Grail of characterful microphone preamplification and the embodiment of true “British EQ.” The 1073 mic/line input module established the punchy, authoritative sound of the iconic Neve 80-series consoles, which dominated professional recording studios during the Golden Age of Analogue. The AMS Neve 1073N Mic/Line/DI Preamp & EQ module now allows you to recreate this legendary sound in your studio. The 1073 uses the same fundamental circuitry as the original 1073 and has been modified to match the needs of current workflows. It provides you with a vast tone palette for creating outrageous statements with your music. A quick overview of the 1073N preamplifier and equalizer:  Line/mic level control with 80dB boost on tap.  Smooth /-16dB fixed-frequency shelving up to 12 kHz.  Mid Frequency: Smooth /-18dB peaking with fixed Q and selectable center frequencies of 0.36 kHz, 0.7 kHz, 1.6 kHz, 3.2 kHz, 4.8 kHz, and 7.2 kHz.  Smooth /-16dB shelving at 35Hz, 60Hz, 110Hz, and 220Hz.  Highpass Filter with 18dB/octave slope, adjustable to 50Hz, 80Hz, 160Hz, and 300Hz.  The “Ø” button reverses polarity at balanced output.  The EQL button activates or deactivates the equalizer circuit. Military-grade build quality. The 1073N Preamp & EQ, adorned in iconic RAF blue-gray colors, offers a distinctive user experience with its solid build quality, including rotary switches, sturdy metalwork, and internal circuitry. Its user-friendly feel and accurate clicks make it a pleasure to use. The 1073 is a testament to the quality of vintage Neve equipment, which was made with mil-spec components and materials, showcasing the durability and sonics of these vintage Neve consoles, which are still found in major studios worldwide. The legend continues. The name Neve commands respect. Rupert Neve began inventing audio equipment during the tube console period but gained his name with solid-state systems. Setting up shop in Little Shelford in the 1960s, Mr. Neve encountered several challenges in developing his brand amidst a changing technical world. Transistors were new, costly, and difficult to procure in large quantities in the UK. Reliable faders did not exist at the time, which is in stark contrast to today’s environment, when parts are inexpensive and widely accessible from various vendors vying for bids. Nevertheless, Rupert persevered. By the early 1970s, the Neve firm was thriving, accepting orders and manufacturing bespoke transformer-balanced consoles for recording and broadcast facilities all over the world. The Neve 80-series consoles produced a massive, powerful, and authoritative sound that characterized the sound of 1970s rock. From London to New York to Los Angeles and beyond, leading studios were adding Neve workstations as quickly as possible. By 1978, with the release of the magnificent 8078 — the apex of hand-wired analog “production” consoles — and the NECAM automation system, Neve boards had become a critical component of any recording studio’s success formula. In the decades following, AMS Neve has pioneered new products such as the VR, VX, and 88R series consoles. Today, the firm continues to push the envelope with cutting-edge pro audio gear that sounds fantastic while intelligently addressing the difficulties of the digital era. AMS Neve 1073N Mic/Line/DI Preamp and EQ Features:  Can be utilized independently or with a 45-series rack or console.  Neve transformer-balanced Class A mic/line preamp with integrated DI input.  Flexible, punchy, and authentic British 3-band EQ.  Highpass filter with polarity reverse switch.  Uses proprietary Neve Marinair transformers on input and output stages.  The output is transformer-balanced and earth-free.  Distortion: <0.07% between 50Hz-10kHz at 20dBu output.  Frequency response: ±0.5dB from 20Hz to 20kHz, -3dB at 40kHz (EQ out).  Designed and built in England by AMS Neve engineers.
