Universal Audio Apollo e1x Preamp Overview The Universal Audio Apollo e1x is a single-channel Unison preamp intended for the Apollo x16D audio interface, including Dante network connection. The Apollo e1x, like other Unison preamps, supports real-time tracking with award-winning reproduction of historic studio hardware. It also supports Apollo’s Auto-Gain function, which adjusts levels across numerous inputs. Each Apollo x16D in your system can handle up to 16 Apollo e1x preamps, and you can manage their gain, 48V phantom power, polarity reversal, and low cut remotely using the UAD Console software. The Apollo e1x is compatible with any Dante audio network and provides simple routing via the Dante Controller or UAD Console software. Furthermore, the Apollo e1x supports PoE, which requires only a single Ethernet connection to operate. When you change the preamp gain on the Apollo e1x using UAD Console software, the plug-in alters the preamp’s behavior to match the target preamp. This implies that your microphone interacts with the Apollo e1x’s input in the same way that it would with a modeled preamplifier, rather than just filtering the audio to simulate the character of a well-known preamp.
