Solid State Logic PureDrive Quad

$65.38 $114.42
Four feature-rich SSL Origin preamps in one chassis. The Solid State Logic PureDrive Quad 4-channel mic/line/instrument preamplifier has four high-performance PureDrive preamps ported from the company’s highly regarded Origin console. The PureDrive Quad integrates smoothly into today’s hybrid studio settings, offering 192kHz/32-bit conversion via ADAT, AES, and USB, as well as stepped controls and digitally controlled analog circuits. The preamps retain the acoustic purity and crystalline clarity associated with SSL microphone preamp designs. In addition to the Clean option, SSL’s innovative Drive circuit provides two separate flavors of gain-dependent, harmonically rich character. The PureDrive Quad also includes four excellent-sounding front-panel hi-Z DI inputs with automated input recognition for electric bass, guitars, keyboards, and other electronic instruments. With all of these advantages, the Solid State Logic PureDrive Quad is a must-have for any current pro studio rack. A pleasure to use. The SSL PureDrive Quad makes microphone selection an artistic choice rather than a technical one. With 65dB of boost on tap, you may pick microphones based on their sound attributes rather than their output. Finally, you are free to use your preferred low-output passive ribbon mic on silent sources! With four mic preamp input impedance settings, you may experiment with your ribbon and dynamic microphones to discover new sound possibilities. The PureDrive Quad is really easy to operate. It has stepped potentiometers for simple gain adjustment and rapid recall. It also has per-channel Gain and 31-detent Trim controls with accurate 1dB increments for fine-tuning, 48V phantom power, polarity inversion, and a useful 3rd-order highpass filter. SSL’s versatile Drive circuit Clean mode (White) activates the highly respected, ultra-low noise floor, linear SSL preamp, which is known for authentically capturing the sound of the source with excellent clarity and detail. Classic Drive (Amber) is the symmetrical mode that produces mostly odd harmonics; it is the same drive sound as on the ORIGIN console. Asymmetric Drive (Green) introduces a new coloration option built exclusively for the PURE DRIVE range, focusing on even harmonic content and giving more noticeable thickness, coloration, and transient softness. Microphone Impedance Input PURE DRIVE QUAD has four mic preamp input impedance settings, allowing engineers to match the mic pre’s impedance precisely to the microphone or even modify the tone of the input signal (on ribbon and dynamic microphones), providing further creative freedom when recording with the PURE DRIVE preamps. Independent Gain, Trim, and HPF Controls PURE DRIVE QUAD includes three separate controls: GAIN – Stepped Gain Control up to 65 dB. TRIM – 31-step Trim control with exact 1 dB increments; use the Gain control to overload the signal and then use Trim to lower it to a reasonable level. HPF – A variable high-pass filter with a frequency range of up to 300Hz. The Solid State Logic Legacy Since its inception in 1969 by Colin Sanders, Solid State Logic has pursued a design philosophy that prioritizes the requirements of artists, engineers, and producers, creating solutions that promote creativity by eliminating technical barriers and optimizing workflows. SSL, firmly ensconced in the pantheon of pro audio greats, helped shape the history of pro audio, and it continues to innovate, bringing its uncompromising quality and signature sonics to a new generation of artists and creators. We are proud to offer SSL’s pedigreed line of consoles and signal processors.
